Ex-QUEENSRYCHE vocalist Geoff Tate has launched the live campaign for his new concept album "Operation: Mindcrime III," with headlining dates across the United States already underway. Fan-filmed footage from the May 5 show at the Bourbon Theatre in Lincoln, Nebraska captures Tate performing "The Answer," one of the album's key tracks.
"Operation: Mindcrime III" is the final chapter of Tate's ambitious trilogy begun with the original 1988 QUEENSRYCHE masterpiece. Unlike the previous installments, this chapter tells the story from the perspective of Dr. X — the shadowy antagonist from the original album — running parallel to the events of "Mindcrime I." "It's happening in time at the same time as Mindcrime I," Tate explained.
The album's 13 tracks were recorded globally during tours, including sessions in a castle in Italy. John Moyer, best known as the DISTURBED bassist, co-produced the record alongside guitarist and co-writer Kieran Robertson. The lead single "Power" received its live debut at Milwaukee's Pabst Theater on May 1 — Tate described it as "really cool — very, very energetic, very up."
The tour marks Tate's continued dedication to bringing the operatic concept album experience to life on stage. Full tour dates and album details are available via Geoff Tate's official channels.
