LAST IN LINE Part Ways With Vocalist ANDREW FREEMAN, Band Searching for Replacement

LAST IN LINE, the band formed by original DIO members Vinny Appice (drums) and Vivian Campbell (guitar), have parted ways with vocalist Andrew Freeman. Drummer Appice announced the split in April 2026, confirming the band was "looking for a singer."

Freeman, an original member since the band's 2012 founding, expressed frustration at the lack of communication: "I was not really given any reason at all about what happened."

Appice pointed to interpersonal tensions: "There were things he commented to the audience. He's his own thing. So finally we just said, 'It'd be a lot smoother to find another singer.'"

The split follows an extended hiatus — LAST IN LINE last performed in May 2024 at the M3 festival. The fourth album remains unfinished with only four songs completed. Guitarist Vivian Campbell (also of DEF LEPPARD) was recovering from cancer treatment during the prolonged break.

No replacement vocalist has been announced yet. LAST IN LINE typically operate as a side project with limited touring activity of 5-10 shows per year.

Formed in 2012 to honor the early DIO catalog before transitioning to original material, LAST IN LINE carry the legacy of the great Ronnie James Dio. Fans will be watching closely to see who steps up to fill this formidable role.
