Swedish metal pioneers MESHUGGAH have announced remastered anniversary editions of two cornerstones of their catalogue — "Destroy Erase Improve" (1995) and "Catch Thirtythree" (2005) — due July 24, 2026 via Reigning Phoenix Music.
"Destroy Erase Improve: 30th Anniversary Edition" marks three decades since the album that crystallized MESHUGGAH's approach into something permanent and world-altering. The record introduced what the announcement describes as "a sharpened and unmistakable version of the band's evolving language: machine-like rhythmic precision, dissonant riff architecture, jazz-fusion flashes." It remains one of the most forward-thinking records ever to emerge from the metal world, and its influence on progressive, djent, and extreme metal across the following 30 years cannot be overstated.
"Catch Thirtythree: 20th Anniversary Edition" celebrates a different kind of achievement entirely. The 2005 record stands as the only full-length in MESHUGGAH's discography to feature entirely programmed drums — a continuous 47-minute composition divided into 13 movements that functions as a single, labyrinthine whole. As an artistic statement, it remains unlike anything else in their catalogue.
Both editions have been newly remastered with restored original artwork and arrive on vinyl, CD digipack, and digital platforms. Bonus tracks accompanying the releases include the remastered single "Future Breed Machine" (with "Destroy Erase Improve") and the remastered "Shed" (with "Catch Thirtythree"), both now available on streaming platforms.
These wider releases follow limited Record Store Day editions from April, which featured alternate cover art. For longtime fans and newcomers alike, this is an opportunity to engage with two of the most important metal records of their respective decades at the best audio quality yet available.
