MÖTLEY CRÜE have announced "Crücial Crüe 1981-1989," a limited-edition picture disc box set collecting the five studio albums that built their legend, arriving July 10 via BMG.
The package brings together "Too Fast For Love" (1981), "Shout At The Devil" (1983), "Theatre Of Pain" (1985), "Girls Girls Girls" (1987), and "Dr. Feelgood" (1989) — five platinum-certified records that have sold a combined 30 million copies worldwide. Available in two main configurations: a 5LP picture disc set and a 5CD picture disc replica set.
Fans chasing the rarest piece of the collection will need to move fast: an ultra-limited 250-unit hand-numbered edition — featuring a reverse-color outer box — is available exclusively through the Crüeseum webstore. A separate "Crüe 45 RPM - The Singles Collection" featuring 10-inch vinyl will also be offered through the same store.
The release is timed to MÖTLEY CRÜE's summer North America run, "The Return Of The Carnival Of Sins" — marking the 20th anniversary of their iconic 2006 "Carnival Of Sins" tour. The 35-city jaunt runs July through September, with $1 from every ticket going to the After School Arts Program.
The enduring grip of MÖTLEY CRÜE's classic catalog is hard to argue with: from "Shout At The Devil"'s leather-and-pentagram defiance to "Dr. Feelgood"'s stadium-conquering strut, these albums haven't left pop culture in four decades — and this box set is the definitive way to own them.
