British heavy metal icons SAXON are back. Frontman Biff Byford has confirmed the band's 25th studio album will be released on January 22, 2027, with a first single and music video due in September 2026 — on digital formats and a limited seven-inch vinyl. Mixing was handled by producer Andy Sneap.
The announcement is a personal triumph for Byford, who completed chemotherapy after battling bowel cancer in October 2025. Several summer 2025 shows were cancelled during his recovery. His return is a testament to SAXON's indomitable spirit.
Byford confirmed the details directly: "The album is coming out on the 22 of January of 2027. You're gonna be able to order the album early September. And the first single — video and single — I think it's gonna be a seven-inch vinyl as well."
The new record follows 2024's acclaimed "Hell, Fire And Damnation". Guitarist Brian Tatler of DIAMOND HEAD has replaced Paul Quinn in the studio and on tour since mid-2023 — bringing another NWOBHM legend into the fold.
Twenty-five studio albums is a remarkable milestone for a band delivering quintessential British heavy metal since the late 1970s — and Byford sounds more determined than ever.
