THE PRETTY RECKLESS have released "Dear God", the title track of their upcoming fifth studio album, arriving June 26 via Fearless Records. The song showcases frontwoman Taylor Momsen's commanding vocals — raw, desperate, pleading in the chorus: "Dear God, can you lift me up, can you take me higher / Dear God, can you lift me up, keep me from a fire." The track builds steadily toward an electrifying guitar solo, underscoring themes of escape and transcendence.
"'Dear God' is desperation set to music," Momsen explained. "When life gets that physical, that brutal, you leave your body and start begging something bigger than yourself to pull you out. That space between heaven and hell isn't a metaphor. It's somewhere you actually live."
The band's lead single "For I Am Death" already made history as their record-breaking eighth Mainstream Rock Radio No. 1 — the most by any female-fronted band. Current single "When I Wake Up" sits at No. 16 on Billboard Mainstream Rock. The album follows a remarkable two-year tour supporting AC/DC on the "Power Up" world tour.
THE PRETTY RECKLESS will support "Dear God" with a headline world tour, opening in North America — New Orleans, Dallas, Los Angeles — before heading to Europe. The 14-track album promises to be one of the band's most raw and uncompromising records yet.
