Japanese death metal veterans DEFILED release their ninth studio album "Altered State" on June 12, 2026 via Season of Mist — and you can stream all 14 tracks in full today on the Season of Mist YouTube channel. Clocking in at 43 minutes, the record earned a 7/10 from Decibel ("fourteen pinpoint brawlers... zero body fat or DM stasis") and was praised by Metal Insider for "pushing the boundaries of extreme music" by blending old-school brutality with progressive rhythms and crossover thrash influences.
Founding member Yusuke Sumita and company have shared stages with Morbid Angel, Mayhem, Cannibal Corpse, and Incantation since the early '90s. "Altered State" is available on CD Digipack and 12" Vinyl Gatefold in Black and Transparent Yellowish-Green editions.
