Death metal supergroup MALEFIC THRONE have unveiled their first-ever official music video for "When Our Shadows Align," a crushing track lifted from their debut full-length "The Conquering Darkness," out on Agonia Records.
The milestone marks the first visual statement from a band that has operated in the shadows since forming — deliberately, it seems, in the spirit of pure underground metal. That MALEFIC THRONE's first video arrives in 2026, following the band's self-titled 2022 EP and their debut full-length, says everything about their priorities: the music comes first, the spectacle can wait.
And what a lineup it is. MALEFIC THRONE brings together three veterans who collectively represent some of the most extreme and respected corners of American death metal. Steve Tucker — bass and vocals — served two celebrated stints with MORBID ANGEL, one of the founding pillars of Florida death metal, anchoring the band through albums including "Formulas Fatal to the Flesh," "Gateways to Annihilation," and "Illud Divinum Insanus." John Longstreth — one of the most technically demanding drummers in the genre — is best known for his relentless work with ORIGIN, the Kansas-based technical death metal juggernaut. Gene Palubicki, handling guitars, is the driving force behind ANGELCORPSE and PERDITION TEMPLE — acts synonymous with merciless, blackened death metal executed at furious velocity.
"The Conquering Darkness" is a focused, eight-track assault that channels the combined decades of experience from all three members into something unmistakably cohesive. Earlier singles "The Voice of My Ghost" and "Athirst for Dissonance" — both also tracks on the album — offered a preview; "When Our Shadows Align" deepens the picture.
