French post-hardcore outfit UNTITLED WITH DRUMS have announced their sophomore album "Made Flesh," due August 21, 2026 via Season of Mist, and they're launching the announcement with a music video for lead single "Matter." The track is a tight, unrelenting piece of work — the sound of a band that has moved decisively past the uncertainty of a debut and now knows exactly who they are.
"Made Flesh" maps a free-flowing exploration of the human psyche. The album deals with ego, denial, toxicity, and faith without reaching for easy resolutions — ten tracks that sit with discomfort rather than resolve it. "Matter," the lead single, homes in on the almost irrepressible impulse to place oneself above everything and everyone else. Vocalist Martin Le Borgne doesn't dress it up: "I wanna be important / I wanna be my own Sun / I've got to be the only one to matter now." The song doesn't condemn so much as expose — a mirror held up to a reflex most people would rather not recognize in themselves.
UNTITLED WITH DRUMS have been together since 2014, and their debut album "Hollow," released in 2020, arrived under uniquely bruising circumstances: just days before France entered its first COVID lockdown. Despite the timing, the record drew widespread critical praise and earned the band a place on some of Europe's most respected stages — Hellfest, London's Desertfest, and the Nuits de Fourvière festival, where they opened for DEFTONES and BARONESS. That company speaks plainly to where the band belong in the contemporary heavy landscape.
"Made Flesh" arrives with a ten-track, 38-minute runtime that keeps things focused and purposeful:
- Above My Head (3:29)
- Shame (3:29)
- Matter (3:44)
- Gray (4:19)
- Space (4:57)
- Change for You (4:31)
- Oblivious (3:13)
- Parasitic (3:30)
- Been So High (3:00)
- Cry (4:30)
