French doom/grunge power-trio CLEGANE have unveiled a new single, "Sun Decay," ahead of their upcoming album Ocean of Black Thoughts, due October 2 via Almost Famous.

Built on saturated, granular riffs, a deep and punishing rhythm section, and raw, weathered vocals, "Sun Decay" tracks a slow loss of control — a life stripped of values and purpose, decaying into inertia, isolation and collapse. The band describe it as wandering aimlessly through the streets of Paris on a sweltering summer day, the heat closing in and every attempt to find meaning leading deeper into the void.

Formed in 2015, CLEGANE have spent the past decade carving a path between the disillusioned weight of '90s grunge and the crushing gravity of modern doom. The trio's catalog includes a self-titled debut EP (2017), Funeral at Sea and a split with FATHER MERRIN (2018), White of the Eye (2022), and a split with FATIMA (2023). Live, the band have built a reputation for visceral, immersive performances, from underground squats in Switzerland to the Purple Stage at Hellfest in 2025.

Ocean of Black Thoughts marks CLEGANE's most ambitious transformation yet, pairing richer drumming, deeper work on effects and new vocal nuances with the raw, instinctive force that has defined the band since the beginning. The album arrives October 2 via Almost Famous.
