Chicago instrumental power trio COYOTE MAN will release their new full-length, "Prosthetic Memories," on August 14, and have shared the album's lead single, "War Hatchet," alongside preorders.

The band — Augie Portugal, Ian Wheeler and Rene Rodriguez — have played together since the early 2000s, officially forming COYOTE MAN in 2015. Working almost entirely without vocals, the trio built "Prosthetic Memories" as a cinematic journey through hope, conflict, introspection and triumph, driven by riffs the band says are "simultaneously haunting and soothing."

The album's title refers to memories "that were never truly lived yet feel deeply personal" — borrowed fragments of emotion, history and imagination absorbed from the world around us and grafted onto the self. COYOTE MAN translate that idea into sound across the record, aiming for music that feels both familiar and otherworldly.

Lead single "War Hatchet" leans on crushing rhythms and dynamic shifts to carry its narrative without words. The band describes the title as "a metaphor for revived hostility and unresolved conflict," themes it says run through the album as a whole, exploring how the emotional remnants of the past continue to shape the present.

"Prosthetic Memories" was recorded in the summer of 2025 at Iron Hand Audio in Chicago and mixed and mastered by Dan Klein. The album includes a guest vocal appearance from Chris Pacific on closing track "Faith In A Burning Room." It will be released on CD, LP and digital formats.
