DEF LEPPARD drummer Rick Allen appears in the newly released music video for "Skywalker," a single from his wife, singer and self-described healing artist Lauren Monroe.
Monroe described the song taking shape around an instrument's tone rather than a conventional songwriting process: "The instrument has the most beautiful bell sounds, and the moment I heard them, I slipped into a deep meditation," she said. She framed the track's intent similarly, telling fans she hopes it offers listeners a moment of calm: "My hope is that this song creates space for you to experience that same shift, to find a little more peace."
In the video, Allen performs alongside Monroe as part of the live band bringing the song to the stage, continuing a musical partnership the two have built outside of DEF LEPPARD's own catalog. Monroe has more than 25 years of experience across wellness, consciousness work and music, with a back catalog that includes the albums "Under The Wolf Moon" and "Messages From Aphrodite," plus "Oneness Chant," which has drawn more than 2.5 million streams on Spotify. "Skywalker" is the latest preview of her upcoming 2026 full-length, "Magnetic," which she has described as blending percussion, spoken word, healing frequencies and contemporary songwriting.
Allen and Monroe's collaborations extend well beyond music. In 2001, the couple co-founded the Raven Drum Foundation, a charitable organization that uses music and complementary therapies to support trauma survivors, with a particular focus on veterans and first responders. The foundation has become a significant part of Allen's public profile alongside his decades behind the kit in DEF LEPPARD, the band he's played with since surviving a car accident and the loss of his left arm in 1984 — an ordeal that didn't stop him from developing a custom electronic kit and continuing to tour and record with the band into the present day.
With "Skywalker" now out, Monroe and Allen are expected to continue promoting "Magnetic" ahead of its 2026 release, with more visual and live content likely to follow.
