DREAMWELL have released a video for "Carrion Birds On The Ark," the latest single from their third full-length, Hymns For The Denial Of God, out August 28 via Prosthetic Records.
Skittering cymbals, pinched feedback and a menacing bassline set the tempo before vocalist Keziah "KZ" Staska delivers the track's jarring singalong: "There's a Virgin Mary water stain in the missing children's poster."
"It criticizes the long-running history of predation in the church," Staska says. "It doesn't make sense that God would let these people shuffle from church to church with their misdoings simply buried by the organization. Carrion birds loom and wait for vulnerable prey to expire in a safe haven. The metaphor reflective of priests who wait for the opportunity to strike."
The Rhode Island quartet — Staska, guitarist Ryan Couitt, bassist Justin Soares and drummer Anthony Montalbano — wrote the 10-track record together in rehearsals and cut it at Silver Bullet Studios in Connecticut with producer Chris Teti.
