HESSIAN And YHWH Announce Split EP 'Rapture And Perversion'

HESSIAN and YHWH have joined forces for a new split EP, "Rapture And Perversion," due July 24 via Wormholedeath. The release pairs two distinct visions of black metal into what the label describes as a relentless run through occult atmospheres, crushing riffs and unfiltered aggression, structured to move seamlessly from one band's material into the other's.

The collaboration had been in the works for nearly a year, with both acts repeatedly pushing back its completion to prioritize other releases before finally locking in a release date. "Rapture And Perversion" is available now for pre-save at orcd.co/rpsplitep.

The split marks a new chapter for HESSIAN, the long-running project of Laremy Wade, who comes off an unusually prolific stretch that saw him credited on more than 40 releases within a single year. On this EP, Wade steps into both guitar and vocal duties himself, reuniting with drummer Imperious Noctem. HESSIAN's history stretches back to 2002, when Wade's project first recorded under the name Madame Durant; it became Utuk Xul Commands Worship in 2004 before going dormant, resurfaced in 2014 as a hardcore street-punk outfit, and shifted back into extreme metal by 2016 under the HESSIAN name. The project signed to Wormholedeath and released a self-titled album in January 2025 featuring Brandon Floyd on vocals — now running the solo DSBM project Nyvrosk — alongside Wade and Noctem. Since then, Wade has rotated a cast of guest musicians through subsequent releases, including Frostmorner, Thoth, Crotalos of Gomold and Dromo', before returning to vocal duties himself on the "Primitive Adorations" split with Death Invoker and now on "Rapture And Perversion."

YHWH brings its ritualistic, atmospherically dense strain of occult black metal to the pairing. Formed in 2024 by siblings Schem HaMephorash and C. Bones, the Belgian/Thai project was later joined by S.M. Goatritual. YHWH released its debut EP, "Tetragrammaton," through Wormholedeath in April 2025, followed by a second EP, "Khatha," later that year, with a third EP, "Baghavat," slated for October 30, 2026.

Together, HESSIAN's newly reconfigured guitar-and-vocal attack and YHWH's ritualistic intensity give "Rapture And Perversion" a split-EP format built less around contrast than continuity, positioning both acts as active forces pushing the underground black metal scene forward.
