Ozzy Osbourne Gets His Own Haunted House At Universal's 'Halloween Horror Nights'

Ozzy Osbourne is getting a haunted house. Universal Studios has announced "Ozzy Osbourne: Prince Of Darkness," a walkthrough attraction built for its "Halloween Horror Nights" event, developed in collaboration with Global Merchandising Services.

The house debuts August 28 at Universal Orlando Resort and September 3 at Universal Studios Hollywood, running select nights at both parks through November 1. The announcement follows the inaugural "Ozzy Osbourne Day" on July 22, which marked the first anniversary of his death.

Rather than pick a single era, the attraction draws on the full span of Osbourne's solo career — all 13 studio albums inform its sequence of dark, surreal rooms. Specific scenes are built around "Blizzard Of Ozz," "Diary Of A Madman," "Bark At The Moon," "No More Tears" and "Ordinary Man," which effectively traces the arc from the 1980 Randy Rhoads-powered solo debut through to the 2020 record that arrived as his health was failing.

The Osbourne family gave the project their blessing. "Ozzy never stopped pushing boundaries, and he loved anything that gave fans a new way to experience his music," said Sharon and Jack Osbourne.

Universal's creative leads framed it as a legacy piece rather than a licensing exercise. "Ozzy Osbourne didn't just help define heavy metal — he created a cultural phenomenon," said John Murdy, executive producer at Universal Studios Hollywood. Mike Aiello, senior director of entertainment creative development at Universal Orlando, added: "It was important for us to create an authentic experience that brings Ozzy's creativity to life."

Limited-edition apparel and collectibles tied to the house will be sold at both resorts and through shopUniversal.com.

The theming is, if anything, overdue. Osbourne spent five decades cultivating exactly the imagery a haunted house trades in — the Prince Of Darkness persona, the bat, the crosses, the asylum iconography of "Diary Of A Madman" — much of it seeded during his years fronting BLACK SABBATH, the band that effectively invented horror as a musical genre.

It is also the second Global Merchandising Services project announced this week aimed at putting a metal institution into an immersive format, following the MOTÖRHEAD partnership with KnuckleBonz360.
