The masked alternative metal project PRESIDENT has released a video for "Dark Heaven," the latest single from its debut album "Blood Of Your Empire," due September 4 via Atlantic Records.
Little about PRESIDENT's lineup has been officially confirmed, though the band is widely believed to be fronted by Charlie Simpson, previously known for BUSTED and the heavier FIGHTSTAR. The anonymity appears to be deliberate: PRESIDENT has framed itself as a reaction against the churn of the modern music industry, saying it wanted "to step back and not be a part of" that conveyor-belt mentality.
"Dark Heaven" carries the album's recurring theme of faith twisted into justification. "It's about the way greed can wear the mask of righteousness," the band said of the song, which searches for something genuine underneath layers of performative belief. The accompanying visualizer captures unscripted reactions from fans hearing the track for the first time inside a church, letting real emotional responses stand in for a conventional narrative.
That tension between faith's capacity to inspire compassion and its history of causing harm runs through "Blood Of Your Empire" as a whole, following on from PRESIDENT's 2025 EP "King Of Terrors." Where that release introduced the project's downtuned, hook-heavy take on alternative metal, the new album is shaping up as a fuller concept piece built around institutional power and the language used to defend it.
PRESIDENT has kept its live shows and press presence minimal so far, letting the music and the mask do the talking. "Blood Of Your Empire" arrives September 4, with "Dark Heaven" serving as the clearest look yet at what the full record has in store.
