German melancholic heavy metal outfit THE NIGHT ETERNAL have unveiled a new single and music video, "Caught In A Spell," taken from their upcoming Metal Blade Records debut, "Cold Velvet," due out August 21.
The band describes "Caught In A Spell" as "the perfect heavy metal soundtrack for a night drive," built around a hypnotic groove and a powerful sing-along chorus that conjure images of endless highways and restless wanderlust pulling the listener toward the unknown. Director Robert Piel translates that atmosphere into a cinematic road-movie clip following a Harley-Davidson-riding knight on his journey.
"Cold Velvet" was recorded between May and December 2025 at Church Of Sound Studios near Munich, Germany. Production, recording and mixing were handled by Michael Zech, guitarist of black metal band SECRETS OF THE MOON and a producer known for his work with SULPHUR AEON, TRIPTYKON and THE RUINS OF BEVERAST.
The album will span eight tracks: "Where This World Ends," "Eurydice (Don't Look Back)," "Caught In A Spell," "When The Last Candle Dies," "The Veins Of Time," "The Watcher Of The Burning Veil," "Shape Of Sorrow" and "Dance On Crimson Ground."
THE NIGHT ETERNAL will support the release with a run of shows across Germany and Spain this summer, including release shows in Kassel, Hamburg and Essen around the album's arrival, before joining MESSA for an extensive European tour running late October through November, taking in France, Spain, Germany, the U.K., the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and Italy.
