TODOMAL Premiere Grand And Gloomy New Album 'Graveyards Of Joy' In Full

Anglo-Spanish doom duo TODOMAL are streaming their new album, "Graveyards Of Joy," in full today, one day ahead of its official July 3 release via Season Of Mist. All nine tracks are available now on the label's YouTube channel.

"Graveyards Of Joy" closes out a trilogy TODOMAL began with "Ultracrepidarian" in 2021 and continued with "A Greater Good" in 2023. Written in solitude in the wake of personal tragedy, the album draws on the landscapes and ghost towns of rural eastern Spain — terrain the band describe as raw, honest, and untamed. Across the record, vast Hammond organ-driven passages give way to desolate folk, while strings carrying a Morriconian openness sit alongside heavy, anchoring riffs. TODOMAL point to a wide range of reference points behind the album's sound, from the orchestral sweep of Vangelis and the warmth of Deep Purple to the dramatic sensibility of Tindersticks and Nick Cave, without losing the solemnity that has come to define the band's music.

Slow-burning and atmospheric, "Graveyards Of Joy" channels grief, anger, and hard-won hope through classic doom songwriting filtered through a distinctly cinematic, dramatic-rock sensibility. The record marks TODOMAL's debut for Season Of Mist and follows a string of advance singles, including "Point Of Coalescence," "Humanised Gods," and the title track, that built anticipation ahead of the album's arrival.

We gave "Graveyards Of Joy" a 9/10 in our review, calling it "forty-three minutes of slow-burning doom that earns its atmosphere." Read the full review here.

"Graveyards Of Joy" is out tomorrow, July 3, via Season Of Mist.
