ANGELUS APATRIDA have a new home. The Spanish thrash quartet have signed with Napalm Records and marked it immediately with "Cycle Of Ruin", the first single of the deal and the opening shot from a three-track EP, "The Reckoning", arriving November 19.
The band did not pretend the courtship was brief. "Now it's time to turn the page! Napalm Records had been chasing us for years, and now the time has finally come," they said. "From day one, we felt their excitement, ambition and understanding of who ANGELUS APATRIDA is and where we want to go next. We're still as hungry as ever, and it feels amazing to finally call Napalm Records our new home."
"Cycle Of Ruin" is built on razor-sharp riffs and driving mid-tempo grooves before it opens out into an explosive solo — a statement of intent rather than a curveball.
The EP is not arriving empty-handed either. Alongside "Cycle Of Ruin" and "Burn It Down" sits a furious reinterpretation of SEPULTURA's "Propaganda", already up on streaming services. The band produced the record themselves, with Juanan López recording and longtime collaborator Zeuss again handling the mix and master. Their own summary: "aggressive, heavy, uncompromising and exactly where we are right now."
Formed in 2000, ANGELUS APATRIDA have spent more than two decades working their way up to being one of the more dependable forces in international thrash, with a live reputation built at Wacken Open Air, Hellfest, Graspop Metal Meeting and Download.
