ELEINE has released "Watch As We Rise," the third single from the Swedish band's upcoming album "The Water Taste Of Blood," due December 4 via the band's own label, Algoth Records, with global distribution through Sound Pollution.
Where the album's first two singles dealt in deception and struggle, "Watch As We Rise" marks a deliberate shift — the moment of reckoning after that groundwork, built on the heaviest riffing the band has put on record yet. "This is our song of reclaiming control of your own life," the band said. "We've been through so much shit the past years. Buried under one pile after the other. 'Watch As We Rise' is a releasing song that fills you with power and determination through heavy chugging and in your face vocals."
That description matches the track itself: forceful, chugging riffs paired with vocalist Madeleine Liljestam's alternately melodic and aggressive delivery, framed by the band as less a moment of catharsis than one of active defiance — a song about dismantling whatever's been weighing the band down rather than simply surviving it.
ELEINE, fronted by Liljestam alongside guitarist and co-vocalist Rikard Ekberg, has built its catalog on that same tension between symphonic melody and outright heaviness since forming in the 2010s, running its own label as a way of keeping full control over how that sound gets released. "The Water Taste Of Blood" arrives December 4, with "Watch As We Rise" serving as the clearest statement yet of where the album is headed.
