FERVENCE Set 'Constructs' For October 16 On Metal Blade — Watch The Video For 'Zenith'

FERVENCE will release "Constructs", their Metal Blade Records debut, on October 16. The lead single "Zenith" is out now with an official video, and pre-orders are live.

The Texas band's route here has been anything but linear. FERVENCE started in Reno, Nevada in 2019 as the solo project of guitarist and programmer Trent Odneal, who had begun writing the songs in his apartment bedroom the year before. Debut full-length "Ghost" followed in 2020 — an emotionally laden and hard-hitting record that contemplates what it is to be human, as the band's own description had it.

The reset came in 2023, when vocalist Stevie B. took the front of the stage and brought a harsher edge with her. FERVENCE worked the West Coast, built a following at home in Reno opening for OTEP, LEFT TO SUFFER and GIDEON, and put out four singles that were gathered into the EP "Realm//One" — a release praised for "breaking so many rules in metal".

The sound sits where DEFTONES, ARCHITECTS and SILENT PLANET overlap: an ethereal blend of harsh and lush that moves between sheer aggression and poignant vulnerability without treating either as the default setting.

Now based in Austin, the quintet spent 2025 on what they call their most fully realized material to date. Writing after "Ghost", Odneal made a deliberate decision to leave more room for the voice — more space for melody, and more attention paid to composition, mood, song structure and the build into a big chorus. Across eleven tracks, "Constructs" works through deeply personal territory: life, death, emotion and the relationships that shape all three.

When the Metal Blade deal was announced, neither member played it cool. "I'm so proud of my bandmates for putting their all into this, and absolutely grateful to the legendary Metal Blade Records for picking us up on this journey," said Stevie B. Odneal, who called the signing "unreal", framed it as a return on stubbornness: "It goes to show, having nurtured our fervent adoration for something I would describe as sacred, music, has opened doors we could have never imagined."

The band are not waiting for the album to hit the road. A fifteen-date September run works its way from Albuquerque up the West Coast and back across to Texas, with BEAUTY IS BETRAYAL along for the middle stretch. A second leg with ENTHRONEMENT opens in Dallas on October 16 — release day itself — and crosses the South and East Coast before closing in Tyler, Texas on November 1.
