FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH are headlining Metal Fest 2026, an in-game event running inside World Of Tanks Modern Armor as part of the console title's Masters Of Mayhem season, which began August 4. The band fronts Act 1 through August 24; a second artist takes over for Act 2 from September 1.
The collaboration is unusually thorough by the standards of music-game crossovers. Two premium vehicles carry the band's branding: the FFDP Knucklehead, a heavy tank decorated with the group's mascot and brass-knuckle imagery that plays the band's latest chart single when selected, and the FFDP Iron Fist, a battle-worn tank destroyer fitted with oversized missiles.
Alongside them come five 2D Commanders modelled on the individual band members, a 3D Commander voiced by frontman Ivan Moody, exclusive cosmetics and a set of limited-time challenges.
"We had a blast creating this with the team, and there are plenty of Easter eggs" waiting to be found, Moody said.
The event also revives "Rush The Stage," a 7v7 respawn mode, this time on a Metal Fest–themed version of the Ghost Town map. Destructible taco trucks have been added, and blowing them up earns bonus medals.
Game tie-ins are hardly new territory for heavy music, but the scale here reflects how central World Of Tanks has become as a promotional channel: the console edition alone has run branded seasons with a string of entertainment properties, and a two-act structure with a second headliner still unannounced suggests the publisher is treating Metal Fest as a recurring fixture rather than a one-off stunt.
For FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, the timing is convenient. The tie-in lands mid-campaign for Legacy, the band's tenth studio album, which is out digitally now with physical editions following on September 18. The record has already produced a Mainstream Rock chart-topper in "Eye Of The Storm" — the band's eighteenth number one on that chart — and guitarist Zoltan Bathory said last month that the group is "not even close" to winding down, despite two decades of near-constant touring.
Metal Fest 2026 runs through the Masters Of Mayhem season on console platforms. Act 2, with its as-yet unnamed headliner, opens September 1.
