Floor Jansen has opened a harder chapter in her solo career. "Bring Me Silence" is out now, and it doubles as the announcement of "Hytress", her second solo album, due January 15, 2027 via REVAMP Music/Warner Music. A full "Hytress" tour follows in 2027, taking her and her live band to club stages across Europe and South America.
The song is about wanting the noise to stop. "The world is constantly demanding your attention," the NIGHTWISH singer said. "Sometimes it becomes so overwhelming that you can barely hear yourself anymore. 'Bring Me Silence' is about that longing for space in your head and system. For clarity, a moment where all is quiet and you can breathe all the way to your belly again and feel satisfied and at peace."
It was also one of the first things written for the record, and she describes it as the point where her two modes meet. "Musically, it feels very natural to me. Metal has always been an important part of who I am. Its power, directness, and intensity are deeply rooted in me as an artist. At the same time, my solo work has allowed me to discover more openness and vulnerability. In 'Bring Me Silence', those sides come together in a very organic way."
Where her debut "Paragon" explored range, "Hytress" is pitched as sharper and more direct across its twelve tracks — down-tuned guitars, layered vocal arrangements and the commanding delivery she is known for, without trading away the emotional weight of the songwriting. The stated aim is not nostalgia: it takes the metal roots and pushes them forward.
The tour is designed to sit between the two poles of her recent live work — the scale of her festival appearances and the intimacy of a sold-out theatre run.
NIGHTWISH have not played live since April 2023, when the band announced they would not tour in support of "Yesterwynde" for the foreseeable future, leaving Jansen's solo work as the main place to hear her.
