KING 810 are knocking again. The Flint, Michigan quartet will release "La Grande Mort Or Silence Of God" on November 27 — their fourth full-length of original material in eighteen months, and a deliberate answer to the album that made their name.

That album is 2016's "La Petite Mort Or A Conversation With God", still their most acclaimed and most streamed record. Rather than mark its tenth anniversary by revisiting it, the band have written a sequel to it: eight tracks that push the same ideas somewhere more violent.

The first of them is out now. "Love Kills" opens on a dirty riff and entranced musing from frontman David K Gunn before distortion shoves his screams over a head-nodding groove, landing on a chantable chorus: "They're in the company of ghosts. Love kills." It closes on a question — "Do you love me? Yes I do" — and never lets go of it.

"This song is about the most dangerous game us animals play — love," Gunn said. "'Love Kills' reveals there is no ceremonial difference between weddings and funerals. There's a type of devotion that doesn't care whether the other person is alive to receive it. That's what this song is — love that outlives the need for consent from the ultimate authority: Death."

Gunn (vocals, guitar, keys), Eugene Gill (bass), John Paul Vega (drums) and Bryce Ballinger (guitar) again worked in Flint with producer Josh Schroeder, best known for his work with LORNA SHORE. The result folds metal, alternative, electronic, hip-hop and psychedelia into the same blood-soaked Midwestern lore the band have mined from the start. An earlier taste, "Hungry Gods", surfaced at the top of the summer and drew hundreds of thousands of streams.

Fresh off a run of U.K. and European festivals, KING 810 head out this autumn on the "Autumnal Rites" headline tour with GUERRILLA WARFARE. It ends October 30 — Devil's Night — at The Crofoot Ballroom in Pontiac, Michigan, where the band will play "La Petite Mort Or A Conversation With God" in full for the first time.
