Polish thrash metal band KOMUTATOR have premiered a lyric video for "Inhuman Resources", the first single from their second studio album We Don't Owe You Anything — and their first new music after a 13-year silence.
Founded in 2006 by guitarist Michał "Kinder" Kowalski, KOMUTATOR made their name in the Polish underground with debut album Mental Sadism (2013) before falling quiet. The band return with renewed energy and a broadened creative vision, but no softening of their uncompromising approach.
We Don't Owe You Anything was recorded between 2024 and 2026, an extended stretch that let the material evolve across multiple sessions. Tracking took place at Heinrich House Studio and Turnia Studio (Halny), with mixing and mastering handled by Filip Hałucha at Heinrich House Studio (BAALZAGOTH, BEHEMOTH, DEUS MORTEM), giving the record a heavy, modern and unapologetic sound.
Musically it's the band's most varied work so far, setting relentless thrash aggression against passages of melancholy, tension and reflection. Lyrically it tracks humanity's self-inflicted decline — not apocalyptic destruction, but the everyday choices that erode values, freedom and identity, in a world where truth is distorted, freedom becomes an illusion and people are treated as resources rather than individuals.
"It is our most diverse release to date, moving between relentless aggression and moments of melancholy, tension and reflection," Kowalski says. "We never tried to force a balance between those extremes, we simply wanted the music to reflect the emotions behind each song. We Don't Owe You Anything is an honest and uncompromising record. It doesn't try to provide easy answers. Instead, it invites the listener to face the world as it is and to ask how much of humanity's decline is the result of our own choices."
The album carries several guest appearances: Wojciech Kostrzewa (ASGAARD) contributes samples to "Metathesiophobia", Szczepan Inglot (WOLFPACK HEADING NOWHERE) wrote the lyrics for "The Doom We Crave" and "Inhuman Resources" and adds guest vocals to the latter, and Jacek Hiro (SCEPTIC) plays a guest solo on "Watch Beauty Die".
We Don't Owe You Anything arrives September 18, 2026 on CD and digital via Polish label Via Nocturna. "Inhuman Resources" is streaming now.
