MINSTREL make their official debut on August 29 with "Guardianes de la Noche y el Tiempo", the band's first single and their public introduction.
The track lays out their approach to Spanish-language heavy and power metal, and opens the door to a universe in which music, history and mystery are treated as parts of the same narrative.
That framing is literal. MINSTREL's six members present themselves as belonging to the Guardianes de la Noche y el Tiempo — the Guardians of the Night and Time — an Order devoted to preserving from oblivion the stories, events and people that still deserve to be remembered. Music, by the band's account, becomes a new instrument of that Order.
It also sets the terms for everything that follows. With this first single MINSTREL establish an identity meant to shape their future releases: songs conceived not as isolated stories but as new pieces of a larger universe that will be revealed gradually, one release at a time.
Musically, "Guardianes de la Noche y el Tiempo" moves between melodic heavy metal and power metal, driven by powerful guitars and prominent keyboards, with clean, commanding vocals and an epic approach built around the song's narrative character.
The masks, names and symbols surrounding the band are not stage dressing either. They belong to the identity of the Guardians and to a story that begins to unfold with this first release — which makes the anonymity a structural choice rather than a marketing one, and leaves the Order, rather than any individual player, as the thing being introduced.
For a debut single, that is an unusually large amount of scaffolding to build before a single note is public. Whether the songs can carry the weight of the mythology is the question August 29 will start to answer.
