MISCREANCE have released "The Moaning Hill", the third and final advance single from "Reminiscence", their second album, out August 28, 2026 via Season of Mist.
At 2:45 it is the shortest thing on the record and probably the most violent. The Italians describe it as a ritual site rather than a song. "Through a collective hallucination, a voyage through time led us to discover a moment in human history that was lost," the band said. "'The Moaning Hill' is the site of a murky and feverish dream, where the intertwining of bodies merges with the ravaged sound of percussion. A horrible ritual of deformity and bloodshed await you under the moonlight!"
When MISCREANCE surfaced properly in 2022, after years in the Italian underground, the comparisons ran to DEATH, SADUS and VOIVOD. "Reminiscence" adds the time-warping virtuosity of ATHEIST and the surgical precision of CORONER to that ledger — but it is aimed forward, not back. The album imagines a prehistoric future where hunting and cave painting are routine and a didgeridoo calls out across the hill itself. The opening sprint is fast enough that drummer and vocalist Andrea Feltrin ends up growling in a language that does not exist:

That is the concept, and it was deliberate. "We are all very happy with how our first album turned out, but we wanted to go bigger by tying 'Reminiscence' to a specific concept," guitarist Tommaso Cappelletti said.
Bassist Jean-Claude Rossignol filled in the rest. "What we've created is a 'lost album', sent from an unknown civilization that's both futuristic and extremely primitive. Through psychic powers and capabilities that transcend earthly comprehension, these primordial extraterrestrials have achieved total neural unity. Yet innate wickedness still lures inside of them, harboring the need for preys, scalps and lust."
None of which comes at the expense of the riffs. "We still play old-school tech-thrash," guitarist Andrea Granauro insists, and "The Moaning Hill" stacks an orgy of them over carnal grooves before surging into a final bloodlust climax. Interviewing the band earlier this year, Infernal TV concluded that "MISCREANCE has proved they're not a copy of legendary bands, but they're a beast of their own".
