MYSTIC PROPHECY have announced their new studio album. "In Metal" arrives November 27, 2026 via Perception, a division of Reigning Phoenix Music, and comes with first single "Robots" and an accompanying video.
The German quintet have been at this for more than two decades, and the new record follows the well-received "Metal Division" and "Hellriot". Fronting it as ever is R.D. Liapakis, also known for his vocal work with Michael Schenker.
"Robots" goes after one of the more uncomfortable questions of the moment: in an age increasingly shaped by technology, how much of our own humanity are we prepared to hand over? Liapakis and guitarist Dan Baune put it plainly. "In this age of technology our future seems uncertain. We must ask ourselves: How do we keep/protect our humanity? Who decides for us? Or is it too late and we are all Robots already?"
The band arrive at this album with a substantially refreshed lineup. Three new members have come in since "Hellriot": Tommy Gun takes over on bass, guitarist Dan Baune joins from NWOBHM act MONUMENT, and Christophe de Combe comes in on drums.
The label is pitching "In Metal" as the start of a new chapter — a record built for maximum impact, with the band returning on renewed energy and a strengthened lineup rather than coasting on their back catalogue.
