The Ronnie James Dio estate has signed an official collaboration with KnuckleBonz, bringing one of heavy metal's defining figures into the KnuckleBonz360 BackStage Experience. The licensing agreement was brokered by Global Merchandising Services, the estate's worldwide agent.
KnuckleBonz360 is an immersive 3D digital platform built around the imagery of individual bands and artists, with more than twenty band worlds rolling out through 2026. The experience launched in July. Fans move through a shared, multiplayer space where they can explore, play mini-games, shop for exclusive collectibles and, in the platform's central conceit, see album art rendered as somewhere you can actually stand.
For Dio, that means a castle and the landscape around it. The world is built to cover the whole arc of the career rather than a single era: the early RAINBOW years, the era-defining partnership with BLACK SABBATH, the "Holy Diver" solo period and, finally, HEAVEN & HELL.
"When we first began designing KnuckleBonz360, we immediately imagined what it would be like to go inside Ronnie's castle or step inside the 'Holy Diver' album art," said Tony Simerman, CEO and creative director of KnuckleBonz Corp. "We can't wait for fans to see what we have built."

The world will carry both digital collectibles and physical merchandise that ships internationally, and is designed as a place where Dio fans explore together rather than alone.
Ronnie James Dio died of gastric cancer on May 16, 2010, at the age of 67. He had been diagnosed in late 2009 while recording and touring with the BLACK SABBATH offshoot HEAVEN & HELL, underwent chemotherapy, and made his final public appearance in April 2010 at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards in Los Angeles.
He remains one of the most influential vocalists the genre has produced, and the man who put the devil horns into metal's permanent vocabulary. His fans remember him as much for his kindness as his voice — the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund has raised millions for cancer research in his name.
His autobiography, "Rainbow In The Dark: The Autobiography", was published in July 2021 via Permuted Press, completed by his friend of thirty years, the writer Mick Wall, after Dio's death. The career-spanning documentary "Dio: Dreamers Never Die" followed worldwide through Mercury Studios in September 2023.
