SEBASTIAN BACH says he's begun work on his next solo album, though he's framing it as an early first move rather than a project with a timeline. "I'm starting to get the itch to do a new studio album," Bach said, describing the actual first step in refreshingly unglamorous terms: creating a shared Dropbox folder titled "New Ideas 2026" for his band to drop musical ideas into.
That band includes guitarist Bruiser DeRozie, bassist Fede Delfino and drummer Paris Bach — Sebastian's son — and Bach said the folder is meant to start gathering raw material well before anything resembling formal recording begins. "I've made the first step, which is creating a Dropbox folder," he said, adding simply: "I'm always gonna be putting out new stuff, 'cause that's what I enjoy doing."
The follow-up would come after 2024's "Child Within The Man," Bach's most recent solo album and his first full-length since 2014's "Give 'Em Hell." "Child Within The Man" was well received on release, drawing praise for Bach's vocal performance and songwriting and producing six charting singles, with guest appearances from John 5, Steve Stevens, Orianthi and Myles Kennedy.
Now in his late fifties and still fronting live shows with a family member alongside him in the touring lineup, Bach's approach to a new record reads less like a band under pressure to deliver and more like a songwriter working at his own pace — a Dropbox folder today, with whatever comes next arriving whenever it's actually ready.
