SOULLESS Drop Two Tracks On Heroes & Martyrs — An Instrumental Called 'The Intimidator' And A Song About Who Stopped Deserving Your Time

SOULLESS have released "The Intimidator / Hell Is Empty", two new tracks out now on Heroes & Martyrs.

The Connecticut band is made up of veterans of the New England hardcore scene, and the songs are built the way that scene builds them: short, and packed with aggression. Their reference points are BLOOD FOR BLOOD, DEATH THREAT and AGNOSTIC FRONT, and the hardcore/oi band's relentless debut EP, "My Friends, Your Enemies", arrived in 2024. It moved fast — shows alongside HAYWIRE, PAIN OF TRUTH and STRIFE followed, and then a deal with upstate New York label Heroes & Martyrs.

The two songs split the work between them. "The Intimidator" is a clobbering instrumental that does exactly what the title promises and exists mainly to get you riled up. "Hell Is Empty" bursts with dynamic riffs and assertive vocals, and takes on the oldest question in hardcore: friend or foe.

Vocalist Mike explained where it came from.

"'Hell Is Empty' is a song we played the first time at For The Children in Boston last December," he said. "Sonically, it reminds me of the CT style with a BLACK MY HEART type assbeater of a break in the middle of the song.

"Lyrically the beginning of this song is about the friendships we all have, and the unbreakable bond of those friendships. Andreas wrote and sang the second part of the song, and that's where the lyrical theme switches. The back half of the song is about those no longer deserving of your time. Ended friendships, betrayal, lying, cheating, all the stuff DEATH THREAT wrote about better than anyone. Hopefully this holds up to that standard."

The release is streaming now on Bandcamp and Spotify.

The band are on the road immediately. This weekend brings a short run with RISK and MANKIND, and in November they head out on a northeast run supporting BLOOD FOR BLOOD.
