TEMIC have released "Broken," the second single from their upcoming album "Ceiba," out October 2 via Season Of Mist. The international progressive metal project also announced their Autumnal Offerings 2026 European tour, with Italian prog band KINGCROW as special guests.
"Broken" is the fifth track on the eleven-song album and one of its shortest at 4:45 — a deliberate contrast to the nine- and ten-minute pieces stacked in the record's back half. Vocalist Fredrik Klemp says it came together almost instantly.
"'Broken' is built around overwhelming emotion and honesty," Klemp said. "We wrote the song in 30 minutes. It came together instinctively. There was no need to overthink it or make it into something more than what it already was. We simply allowed it to be what it is. I think that's where the song gets its strength."
He approached the vocal take the same way. "The honesty of this song became very important to my vocal performance," Klemp continued. "It connects to experiences and emotions that are deeply personal to me. Rather than distance myself from them, I wanted to let those emotions come through in my voice. My performance sits deliberately close to the edge, fragile and unsteady, as if it could give way at any moment."
"Ceiba" is TEMIC's second album, following the 2023 debut "Terror Management Theory," and takes its name from the sacred tree of Mayan cosmology that connects the earth, the heavens and the underworld. The band describe the record as an examination of loss in all its dimensions. Lead single "Ceased To Be" arrived in July.
