THE MATERIA have released the official video for "Hurt", the latest single from "We Against Us - Prologue". The clip was created by Art Paradox.
The release schedule is unusual, and deliberate. "We Against Us - Prologue" is available today, August 28, exclusively on CD, and only at one place: the 14th edition of MateriaFest, the band's own festival. Anyone not in the room waits. The digital release follows on September 17, 2026.
"Hurt" is the third single from the record, after "1984" and "Declaration Of Hate". The band recorded the new material independently; mixing and mastering were handled by Konrad Janiszewski, whose credits include HERESY DENIED and SOUR BLOOD.
THE MATERIA are a four-piece from Szczecinek, in northwestern Poland, and have spent well over a decade building their own identity inside the Polish heavy music scene. The band's roots go back to 2007, and from the beginning they took a modern approach to metal — powerful riffs, progressive structures, groove, electronics and emotional heaviness, tied to memorable songwriting and an explosive live show.
What has emerged across the years is a sound that moves between modern metal, metalcore, djent and alternative aggression without settling into any of them. The band have never been afraid to cross stylistic boundaries, and the results are heavy, contemporary and emotionally uncompromising: heaviness alongside atmosphere, technical precision alongside genuine feeling. With four full-length albums already behind them, "We Against Us - Prologue" is the next step rather than a reintroduction.
On October 16 the band begin the "Piekło i nie bo Tour" across Poland — the name a play on the Polish for "hell and heaven" — with DEMETED, who deal in aggressive and ferocious metalcore, along for the full run.
