VISIONS OF MORPHEUS have released "I Will Arise", the first single from their forthcoming concept album "Dreaming In Binary". It is out now through Indie Tunz Records, and it arrives with a guest vocal that carries more weight than a debut single usually gets.
That voice belongs to Nils K. Rue, long established as the frontman of Norwegian progressive metal institution PAGAN'S MIND. As of this year he is also fronting LEX LEGION, the supergroup that put him alongside four members of KING DIAMOND's classic late-1980s lineup — guitarists Andy LaRocque and Pete Blakk, bassist Hal Patino and drummer Mikkey Dee — whose self-titled debut landed via MNRK Music Group earlier in 2026. For a project releasing its first single from an unreleased album, landing him is not a small booking.
He earns the billing. Rue's performance is the anchor of "I Will Arise", pushing a track that already trades in crushing riffs and cinematic scale toward something closer to genuine drama. The song moves between aggression, atmosphere and melody without ever thinning out the heaviness underneath — the balancing act progressive metal talks about more often than it pulls off.
"Dreaming In Binary" is built around artificial intelligence, technology, human identity and the uncertain shape of what comes next. The specific question at its centre is the one the field keeps circling: what happens when the things humanity builds start testing the limits of the people who built them. "I Will Arise" is designed to work as a standalone track while cracking the door open on that larger story.
VISIONS OF MORPHEUS are a progressive power metal project out of Oshawa, Ontario, just east of Toronto, working in modern heavy riffing, layered musicianship, immersive atmosphere and melodic intensity. Their site lists ten tracks for the album:
- A New Epoch
- Dawn of the Machine

- Utopian Lies
