A PLACE TO KILL — the industrial project built by Richard Patrick, the FILTER vocalist and former NINE INCH NAILS member, alongside Jim Louvau of THERE IS NO US — will release its second EP, APTK2, on November 13 via Patrick's own No Pulse Records.
The first single, "Keep My Name Out Of Your Mouth", arrives on September 25 with a music video. It is described as a volatile collision of metal and industrial aggression: punishing rhythms, distorted electronics and dark, cinematic production under Louvau's menacing delivery and Patrick's unmistakable voice — confrontation turned into an anthem, and a warning shot dressed as a single.
"Super proud of this new EP," Patrick said. "It's even heavier and crazier than the first one. The post-apocalypse never sounded so good."
APTK2 follows the duo's seven-song self-titled debut, released in June 2026 and picked up quickly by SiriusXM Octane and Revolver, which put out an exclusive vinyl edition. Produced by Patrick at his Los Angeles studio, that first EP laid out the project's palette: crushing electronics, trap-inspired rhythms and two vocalists trading lines rather than splitting them into lead and backing.
Louvau — also a well-known photographer and music video director — said the speed of the follow-up was a deliberate answer to how the debut landed. "We were so overwhelmed at the response we received after we released the first EP that we wanted to get back into the studio as soon as possible to work on the follow-up and give people more new music — and to also make it clear that this wasn't just a one-off side project," he said.
"'APTK2' sounds more focused, more ferocious, and more pissed off than ever," he added. "We took some new roads this time around, and these songs feel more cinematic and serve as a soundtrack to the aftermath of a world that destroyed itself due to greed and betrayal."
The framing matters, because both men came into this from projects with long-established shapes. Patrick has fronted FILTER since 1993, after playing guitar in the touring version of NINE INCH NAILS during the Pretty Hate Machine era. Louvau has spent years on the other side of the lens, shooting and directing for the scene while fronting THERE IS NO US. A PLACE TO KILL is explicitly the place where neither of them has to honour an existing template — which is why the second EP arrived barely five months after the first.
