Replacing a singer of eleven years is the kind of move that can take a band down with it. Six months into life with Lauren Hart, ARCH ENEMY drummer Daniel Erlandsson says the audience settled the question long before the band had time to worry about it.
Speaking at Summer Breeze, Erlandsson said that "from the first show, the fans really embraced her and liked her" — a reception that started with the opening run in China and Japan in March 2026 and has not let up since. Hart, formerly of ONCE HUMAN, stepped in after Alissa White-Gluz's departure in late 2025 and made her recorded debut on 'To The Last Breath', released in February.
Guitarist Michael Amott admitted the whole thing came together far faster than planned, and that the original idea was a stopgap rather than a hire. "Everything happened really quickly," he said. "We thought maybe we'd get a singer just for the summer and see how things go. But then we started talking to Lauren." Once she sent demo recordings over, the band had 'To The Last Breath' tracked within weeks — a turnaround that turned an interim arrangement into a permanent one before the announcement was even public.
Hart has described that first show as "a dream come true", and said the reaction was "instantly amazing" in a way she had not braced for. She has also pointed back to ARCH ENEMY's early-2000s run — the 'Wages Of Sin' era — as formative for her own voice, which puts a neat loop on the appointment.
Neither Erlandsson nor Amott had much patience for the album-tour-rest cycle when asked what comes next. Both said the band writes continuously rather than in blocks, and that studio work resumes once the September touring is finished. That would make the follow-up to 'Blood Dynasty' the first full ARCH ENEMY album with Hart on it.
The current lineup is Lauren Hart on vocals, Michael Amott and Joey Concepcion on guitars, Sharlee D'Angelo on bass and Daniel Erlandsson on drums.
