Darkness Shall Rise Productions has announced October 31 as the international release date for Beswærilsin, the tenth album from Swedish black metal entity ARCKANUM, arriving on CD, vinyl LP and cassette.
Everything created under the ARCKANUM name is an extension of sole member Shamaatae's Thursian spiritual practice, and the new album is framed as a complete magical working — music, lyrics, sound and visual form developed as interconnected parts of the same ritual expression. The lyrics are written in Old Swedish (fornsvenska), drawing on Old Norse and Swedish poetic traditions and elements of Swedish svartkonst, functioning as mythic charms and incantations invoking the Thursian current.
Musically, Beswærilsin fuses ARCKANUM's older foundations with Shamaatae's present approach: a feral, unpolished production stripped of ornament, moving between the freezing storms of Niflheimr and the blazing fury of Múspellsheimr. The first single will be revealed on October 4.
