Corey Taylor will play what is being billed as an intimate show at Fremont Country Club in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday, October 18. Tickets are on sale now through Smashmagpresents.com.
It is a club, not an arena, and that is the whole story. Taylor's solo activity has been deliberately scarce since 2023. He played what he described as his first acoustic solo show in over three years in March 2025 at the HorrorHound Weekend convention in Cincinnati, Ohio, then another a month later at Spookala at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa. Two conventions and now one club night: that is the shape of it.
The last release under his own name was "CMF2B… Or Not 2B", a set of covers and B-sides left over from the "CMF2" sessions, issued for Record Store Day in April 2024 through BMG and digitally that May. "CMF2" itself arrived in September 2023 — his first album for BMG and the first on his own imprint, Decibel Cooper Recordings, produced by Jay Ruston, whose credits include ANTHRAX, AMON AMARTH and STEEL PANTHER. Taylor tracked it in early 2023 at The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas with his solo band: bassist Eliot Lorango, drummer Dustin Robert and guitarists Christian Martucci and Zach Throne.
Then the touring stopped. In January 2024 Taylor cancelled a scheduled North American solo run, citing his mental health. He later told Alternative Press that he had hit "a real dark point" and that he had rebuilt the way he works.
"I found that my pursuit of work and all things ego was killing me. And nearly killed me," he said. "So I've reinvested my life to the point [where] I'm only going to work so much. I'll never be gone from home for more than two and a half weeks. I'm putting importance back on the things I really value. That is the greatest gift I could give myself and my family."
A single night in the city where he recorded "CMF2" fits that arithmetic considerably better than a tour bus does.
The day job, however, is about to get loud again. SLIPKNOT are expected to announce a 2027 world tour on Monday, September 28. Posters carrying the band's S logo have gone up over the past week in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Hershey, Houston, Mexico City, Bogotá, Buenos Aires, Toronto, Santiago, San Francisco and Ontario — the standard pre-announcement ritual, and one nobody in the SLIPKNOT camp has bothered to deny.
The band released "Arsenal" earlier this month. It was the recording debut of drummer Eloy Casagrande, who joined in early 2024, and the first SLIPKNOT single since turntablist Sid Wilson was fired over the summer. Jim Root has already confirmed the song is not going on the next album.
