DEATHCULT have released "Eat Broken Glass" ahead of "Cult Of The Dog", the album that finally closes a trilogy the Norwegian band opened nineteen years ago. It arrives October 2 via Soulseller Records.
The arc runs "Cult of the Dragon" (2007), "Cult of the Goat" (2017), and now this. Ten years between the first two, nine between the second and third — a release schedule that would look like neglect from most bands and reads more like deliberate slowness from this one. The label's own description is four words of intent: "Top tier black metal — no compromises!"
The recording history explains some of the gap. "Cult Of The Dog" was tracked in 2021 at Sanddalen Laave and at Grieghallen Studio, then mixed at Grieghallen across 2022 to 2025 by Eirik "Pytten" Hundvin. Haldor Grunberg mastered it at Satanic Audio in 2025. The front cover is by Jannicke Wiese-Hansen.
Those two names carry weight on their own. Pytten engineered the records that built the Norwegian second wave's sound at Grieghallen, and Wiese-Hansen drew the artwork and logos that gave it a visual grammar. Putting both on a 2026 album is a statement about lineage rather than nostalgia — this is the same room, the same hands, and a band unwilling to chase a modern mix.
"Eat Broken Glass" sits fourth on the record and runs 5:16, between "Author of Caedes" and "Pseudocommando". The band are credited as Skagg, Hoest, Thurzur and Lava.
"Cult Of The Dog" track listing:
- Dogs of War
- Cynocephalus

- Eat Broken Glass

Soulseller will issue the album on CD and gatefold LP, with coloured vinyl among the variants.
