EVANESCENCE have released the official video for "Tell Me When You've Had Enough". Directed by Eric Richter, it was cut entirely from footage shot on the band's recent North American leg — which makes it a tour document as much as a promo, and suits a song about refusing to be handled.
The track questions how much a person will give up to stay on the path of least resistance, and where the point comes at which resistance is the only option left. It was co-written and produced by Zakk Cervini, whose credits include BAD OMENS, BRING ME THE HORIZON and SPIRITBOX, and Jordan Fish, formerly of BRING ME THE HORIZON and more recently behind records by ARCHITECTS and Poppy.

Amy Lee has been open about how much that pairing changed the process on "Sanctuary". "That's been the biggest clear new thing that's different, that sets this album apart," she told Rolling Stone Australia. The band had already started the record with Nick Raskulinecz before the sessions with Fish and Cervini happened — Lee, guitarist Troy McLawhorn and the two producers in a room "with nothing in our hands".
For a writer used to arriving prepared, that was the shift. "I am so used to being a person that comes to the table with a backpack of ideas already, because I don't want to ever be in that moment where there's no idea, and it's like, 'Oh, God, they need to know that I know what I'm doing', but for once, we've just been too busy and inspired and whatever, like, I'm not scared anymore."
She was blunt about why she used to work alone. "It's something I didn't used to be open to — I just had to do everything myself before, because I had something to prove."
The album is doing numbers. Previous single "Who Will You Follow" became the fastest-moving rock radio single of the band's career, entering the US rock radio top ten in under four weeks and going to No. 1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock charts in both the US and Canada, on the Rock & Alternative chart, and on Hard Rock — a first for the band. Separately, "Bring Me To Life" was recently certified diamond by the RIAA, only the fourteenth song in history to reach that mark from a diamond album.
"Sanctuary" is out on digital, standard and deluxe CD and a box set, with the double vinyl issued on September 4. The deluxe CD, exclusive to the band's store, adds a Blu-ray with a "Live In São Paulo" concert film.
The European arena leg opens on September 8 at First Direct Arena in Leeds, with Poppy supporting throughout, K-Flay on the UK dates and NOVA TWINS on the European ones. On the North American run the band worked with PLUS1 and raised close to a quarter of a million dollars for Direct Relief and Help Hope Live.
