JASMENO have premiered the official video for "His Rebirth", featuring a guest vocal from Bartłomiej Krysiuk of PATRIARKH. It is the first look at "Assemblage of Cinematic Idioms", out September 11 through Tangled Records.

JASMENO began in autumn 2017 as the work of Sławomir Nietupski, who handles keyboards, synthesizers and programming, and whose first three releases — "Jasmeno" (2020), "Elixir" (2021) and "Lucid Horizon" (2022) — sat between progressive rock and melodic electronica with the 1970s and 1980s clearly in earshot. After nearly four years away, the new album moves somewhere else entirely: distinctly cinematic, built around the sound of a virtual symphony orchestra, six long pieces running close to fifty minutes.
The organising idea comes from outside music. Nietupski took it from Władysław Hasior, the Polish sculptor who assembled multilayered works out of fragments of reality that had no business fitting together. The title says the same thing twice: "assemblage" for the method, "cinematic idioms" for the result — music that unfolds like the soundtrack to a film that does not exist.
"It is a musical assemblage in its purest form: built from diverse fragments and personalities, yet brought together under a single artistic vision," Nietupski said. "Much like Hasior's work, it is not about easily accessible beauty, but about the intensity of the experience and the creation of a unique, multilayered universe. The entire work was created without the use of artificial intelligence."
That last sentence is doing deliberate work in a year when a good part of the metal press has been arguing about generated artwork and generated vocals.
The instrumental core is guitarist Michał Grall of UNBLESSED DIVINE, formerly of SINISTER, and bassist Artur Ołkowicz of MECHANISM and ART OF ILLUSION, with Brian Gawaski on lead vocals. The lyrics are by poet Izabela Turska-Kamrowska, and deal in everyday doubt, separation and alienation, and the search for faith and joy inside ordinary life.
The guest list is long: alongside Krysiuk there are Marc Grewe of MORGOTH, Snorre Ruch of THORNS, Yusaf Parvez of DØDHEIMSGARD, Sławomir Maryniewski of ARMAGEDON, Mariusz Domaradzki of YATTERING and Ryszard Kramarski of MILLENIUM, plus Lecia Louise, Sasha Janowicz, Joanna Zondłowska, Łukasz Kowalski, Tomasz Andrzejewski and Robert Kołakowski.
Jakub Mańkowski (BEHEMOTH, ME AND THAT MAN, BLINDEAD, Czesław Mozil, Justyna Steczkowska) mixed and mastered it. The logo is by Christophe Szpajdel, whose work has fronted EMPEROR, ABORTED and LORNA SHORE. Nietupski did the graphic design, the layout and the hand-painted watercolour illustrations himself; the band photography is by Agnieszka Stawrosiejko of Colleen Cummings.
