METALLICA Push 'M72' Into 2027 — Twelve More North American Stadiums With LIMP BIZKIT And AVATAR

METALLICA have confirmed that "M72" is nowhere near finished. The tour that has already covered 99 shows in 26 countries since it launched in April 2023 comes back to North America next spring for twelve more stadium dates, opening May 8, 2027 at BC Place in Vancouver and closing June 19 at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City. LIMP BIZKIT and AVATAR open every night of the run.

The routing is the most interesting part of the announcement. Rather than circling back to the same major markets, the band have built the leg around a dozen cities "M72" has not touched on this cycle, pushing through the American southwest and midwest: Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, the Alamodome in San Antonio, Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville, Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Highmark Stadium in Buffalo and Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland among them.

The dates pick up where another marathon leaves off. METALLICA's "Life Burns Faster" residency at Sphere in Las Vegas runs from October 1, 2026 through March 13, 2027; "M72" resumes once that engagement is done.

Ticketing starts with fan club pre-sales on Monday, September 21 at 10 a.m. local time, with additional pre-sales running through the week ahead of the general on-sale on Friday, September 25 at 10 a.m. local. Citi cardmembers get a presale window from September 22 at 10 a.m. local through September 24 at 10 p.m. local via Citi Entertainment, and Verizon is running a parallel presale for U.S. shows through its Verizon Shine loyalty programme across the same dates.

Since 2023, close to five million people have seen the in-the-round production, and the reviews have been unusually consistent for a band four decades into the job — Billboard called it "an altogether life-affirming experience," the Los Angeles Times reckoned the band sounded "as tight and furious as METALLICA has sounded in ages."

As on every previous "M72" leg, a portion of proceeds from each ticket goes to local charities through All Within My Hands, the foundation the band and their management established in 2017. To date it has put $19 million into career and technical education through the Metallica Scholars Initiative, $8.8 million into fighting food insecurity, and $6.2 million into disaster relief and other local services. METALLICA cover the administrative costs themselves, so every donated dollar reaches the organisations the foundation supports.
