The Ozzy Osbourne haunted house is open. Universal Studios Hollywood's Halloween Horror Nights 2026 started on Thursday, September 3 and runs on select nights through November 1, and among its eight houses is "Ozzy Osbourne: Prince Of Darkness", built around four decades of the late singer's solo career.
The house is structured as a walk through the records. Scenes draw on "Blizzard Of Ozz", "Diary Of A Madman", "Bark At The Moon", "No More Tears" and "Ordinary Man", with different versions of Ozzy jumping out along the route — mad-scientist Ozzy at one point, a demonic bat carrying Ozzy's head at another.
That last image was not a late addition. John Murdy, the event's executive producer, told TimeOut Los Angeles what he opened with when he first sat down with Jack Osbourne: "I said, 'Jack, whatever we do in this house, there's one scene we have to do: I want a giant bat to bite the head off your father.'"
Jack said the family were closely involved from the start. "We started conversations with Universal maybe September of last year. And we came a few times. And, yeah, we were very much involved," he told Access Hollywood on opening night. On how much of his father's life is in there, he was careful: "It's a lot of 'inspired by'. So if you're familiar with my dad's musical catalog or album covers or what have you, it's all kind of woven in there."
Sharon Osbourne was more interested in crediting the crew. "Listen, I don't design. These people that work here are amazing. All the designers, the people that build the sets," she said. "I haven't been in it, I've seen it from the first idea. So I've seen it as it's progressed on paper."
Asked how Ozzy himself would have taken it, Jack pointed to a precedent. "Back in 2013, they did a BLACK SABBATH house, and he loved it. I mean, he even went and walked through it. He had such a good time, and he was just really just thrilled by it, and he would love getting the updates on how long the lines were to go into the house."
He also gave up the one thing that genuinely frightened his father: "He was scared of spiders. And he hated being tickled. Oh my goodness — if you tickled him, he would lose his shit."
There is a themed bar to go with it. Ozzy's Bar on the Lower Lot was drawing roughly hour-long queues by the end of opening night, serving a Blizzard Of Ozz-arita, an Ultimate Sin-amon, a Bark At The Moon Mule and a naan taco called Bark At The Naan. A second version of the house is running at Universal Orlando.
