RAMMSTEIN are bringing their most logistically absurd tour to the cinema screen. "Rammstein — Live In Mexico City," a feature-length 4K concert film, opens worldwide on November 4 for a limited run, with the companion live album arriving on November 20 on physical and digital formats.
The film documents the three-night stand at Mexico City's 65,000-capacity Foro Sol on October 1, 2 and 4, 2022 — close to 200,000 people across the run, and the closing act of the band's first and only full-scale North American stadium campaign. Moving that production across the Atlantic took seven 747s and a crew of nearly 210. The twelve-date leg opened in Montreal on August 21, 2022 and set seven US stadiums alight before finishing in Mexico.
The setlist captured on film runs the length of the catalogue: "Armee Der Tristen," "Deutschland," "Du Riechst So Gut," "Sonne," "Du Hast" and a rare airing of "Te Quiero Puta!" among many others. Behind the camera is Paul Dugdale, whose concert credits include THE ROLLING STONES, Elton John, Adele and Taylor Swift.
Trafalgar Releasing handles worldwide distribution, with Filmwelt Distribution taking Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Alto Adige and Luxembourg. Every market gets the November 4 date except France, which opens November 6, and Japan, where the film screens on November 5 and 18. Full cinema listings go live at rammsteinmexico.live on September 23 at 5 p.m. CEST.
The stadium run the film closes out stretched from 2019 to 2024 and straddled two albums — the untitled 2019 record that topped fourteen national charts and reached the US Top 10, and "Zeit," released on April 29, 2022, almost three years to the day after its predecessor.
Thirty-plus years in, RAMMSTEIN remain an anomaly: more than 20 million albums sold, and a lineup that has not changed once since 1994. Till Lindemann, Paul Landers, Richard Z. Kruspe, Flake, Oliver Riedel and Christoph Schneider have made every record together, from 1995's "Herzeleid" through "Sehnsucht" and its Grammy-nominated "Du Hast," "Mutter," "Reise, Reise," "Rosenrot" and "Liebe Ist Für Alle Da."
