Scottish atmospheric black metal project SAOR have announced "Caledonia", an album of five re-recordings drawn from the one-man band's first three full-lengths — "Roots", "Aura" and "Guardians". It arrives November 6th, 2026 via Season of Mist, and a music video for "Carved in Stone MMXXVI" is out now.
Far from an exercise in nostalgia, "Caledonia" finds Andy Marshall rebuilding these songs from the ground up with producer Chris Fielding, after years of refinement on stage — given the scale and depth Marshall always heard in them but lacked the resources to fully realise the first time around. Guests include drummer Carlos Vivas, multi-instrumentalist Ella Zlotos (tin whistle, low whistle, Uilleann pipes) and violinist Àngela Moya Serrat, with artwork by longtime collaborator Anaïs Chareyre-Méjan.
The album comes on CD digipak and three 2x12" gatefold vinyl variants — pre-order/pre-save.
