WEEND'Ô have released "Impregnate Me", the first single from "Elveniga" — an album due on November 13 through Boh Music, with pre-orders open now.
At seven minutes and twenty-three seconds, the single is not a trailer so much as a doorway. It is the first look at the world the album is built around: a fantastical universe drawn from the energy and visual language of manga epics, and an invitation to leave the ordinary one behind.
The band formed in south-west France in 2010 and have spent fifteen years on a sound that sits between eras — the ethereal, immersive atmospheres of classic progressive rock pushed up against contemporary rock and metal weight. Holding it together is the voice of Laetitia Chaudemanche, who performs as Hayle, and whose delivery is the band's most identifiable feature.
Her role on "Elveniga" goes well past singing. Chaudemanche wrote the vocals, lyrics and keyboards, composed, and created both the story the album tells and the language it is told in — Elveniga is a constructed tongue, not a word borrowed from somewhere else, which explains track titles like "Elwo", "Ayleen", "The Eldaëry" and "Renaescentia".
Recorded in spring 2025, the record moves further into symphonic and fantastical territory than anything the band have done before, conceived less as a set of songs than as one continuous, luminous passage.
The three of them describe it in near-identical terms. "Elveniga is the album of coherence, unity and hearts in alignment," Chaudemanche said. Guitarist and arranger Térence N'guyen Van called it "the transition towards harmony". Bassist Maxime Rami put it most simply: "This is the album that represents us best."
It is their third electric studio album, following "You Need To Know Yourself" (2012) and "Time Of Awakening" (2018), with the acoustic EP "Bridge Of Heart" arriving in 2025 between them.
