South Texas melodic metalcore band A NEW DAY have released their new EP, Held Under An Incandescent Sky, through DAZE. It follows the six-piece's 2025 debut EP So Close To Perfection....
The band take their cues from the emotional, synth-laced metalcore of the early 2000s, naming A LONG WINTER, HOPESFALL and BROKEN BY SILENCE as touchstones. Across five tracks, harsh growls trade off with clean vocals in songs about friendships pulling in opposite directions, while frantic riffs run under layered synths and electronics. The EP was produced, mixed and mastered by Nathan Smith-Lorian in his home studio.
