ALCEST will release Live At Hellfest 2022 on December 4, 2026. The live album documents the French band's performance at the 2022 edition of Hellfest in Clisson, and pre-orders are now open through the Nuclear Blast webstore.
The first edition announced is a vinyl pressing in natural with black smoke. Nuclear Blast pitches the record as a collision of ethereal beauty and crushing intensity, a set that moves between soaring melodies and full-force post-metal heaviness on one of France's biggest festival stages.
For ALCEST, Hellfest is a home-turf stage: the project started by Neige in the early 2000s became one of the founding names of what is now called blackgaze, fusing black metal's rawness with shoegaze's dreamy wash. Its most recent studio album, Les Chants de l'aurore, came out on Nuclear Blast in 2024.
This is not the band's first official live document. Live at Roadburn 2018 captured an earlier festival appearance; the Hellfest recording now adds a bigger, outdoor stage to that story.
The tracklist has not been published yet.
