German epic metal duo ASH OF ASHES released a music video for "The River" on October 16. It is the second single from All Must Wither, the band's third full-length, which arrives on October 30, 2026.
Where the first single, the namesake track "Ash Of Ashes", leaned into Ragnarök and forward momentum, "The River" shows the quieter, more wistful face of the record. The band calls it a catchy song that puts its melancholic side fully on display, one where constant change and uncertainty meet continuity and the familiar. At four and a half minutes, it is one of the more compact pieces on an album that closes with the 17-minute "The Chronicler".
ASH OF ASHES is Skaldir (music, vocals, guitars, keyboards, bass) and Morten (lyrics, vocals). The pair debuted with Down The White Waters in 2018 and followed it with Traces in 2022. On All Must Wither, guitarist Simon Bihlmayer adds solos to three tracks and Dennis Strillinger plays drums. The album was recorded, mixed and mastered at Kalthallen Studios, and fans of WHILE HEAVEN WEPT, MOONSORROW and EREB ALTOR are the natural audience.
