Chad Gray Of MUDVAYNE Cancels Two California Solo Shows Over Vocal Issues

MUDVAYNE and HELLYEAH frontman Chad Gray has canceled two California dates of his "30 Years Of Madnesss" solo tour, citing "deep vocal issues." The shows at the House Of Blues in San Diego on October 5 and the Observatory OC in Santa Ana on October 6 are off. The tour is expected to resume on October 7 at the Fremont Country Club in Las Vegas.

Gray explained the decision on social media on Sunday, October 4. He said fans who caught his Aftershock festival set would have noticed he was struggling: he had already been dealing with vocal problems and then fell ill on the day. He wrote that he needs to rest "so I can protect my voice, my health, and hopefully keep this tour going," and apologized to fans in both cities, adding that he hopes to return and "replay the shows the way they're supposed to be played."

Ticketmaster purchases will be refunded automatically; buyers from third-party resellers should contact their point of purchase. Meet-and-greet packages can be transferred to the Las Vegas show, or will be reimbursed for those who can't attend.

The "30 Years Of Madnesss" run celebrates Gray's three decades on stage, with sets drawn from both the MUDVAYNE and HELLYEAH catalogs. His backing band features MUDVAYNE touring guitarist Marcus Rafferty, guitarist Joe Bonasorte, bassist Nick Villarreal and drummer Devin Attard. BUTCHER BABIES and DEVIL'S CUT are supporting. Gray launched the solo shows on April 24 in Las Vegas, while MUDVAYNE are taking 2026 off from touring and recording.
